Gettin sick, cell phones, & Turkey Bowl Day

Hello from the bustling metropolis of Lancaster, Pennsylvania! :)

Had a day off today on my tour... only four more shows to go. It seems so surreal that it's about to end. The Lord has been SO faithful through these two months- I couldn't even begin to put into words all that He's accomplished! He has placed such a heavy call for discipline and obedience and surrender on both Shane and I in this season... it's pretty overwhelming (and, might I add, intimidating) when you hear Him say that, but He has been our help. Awesome times to be a part of, let me tell ya.

And Shane... sweet, sweet, poor Shane... they finished their three month long hardcore tour last night in Austin, and wouldn't you know it, he's SICK! The first real breather he's had in months, and he spent 5 hours of the first day of it in the doctors office... and I guess he has bronchitis. :( Bless his heart. These are the days when I ESPECIALLY hate cell phones. I just wish I could run to the grocery and get soup for him and run and get his medicine... yeah... bummer. The good part is that it's only SEVEN days until we get to see each other! We played in Phoenix on the same night a little over two weeks ago, and then it just didn't make sense routing wise to meet up anywhere else before Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving... mmm... my heart gets warm at the mention of it :) It's our family's favorite holiday. My mom's side comes to our house (she has 7 siblings, and about 5 come + kids and grandkids, which = a lot of people) and, true to German-family form, eats, talks, eats, laughs, eats, cries, eats, plays, eats, fights, eats, eats, eats, sleeps, eats all day long. SO fun. Shane and his sweet mama are coming up... it's gonna be such a blast. It's tradition that after lunch, all of my uncles and guy cousins go outside (no matter the weather) and play football... aka, The Turkey Bowl. Shane's going to enjoy that. :)

Oh! And some wedding info: I got to be home for a few days last week, and Mama and I went to the chapel/reception hall one morning and got almost everything squared away! It REALLY sunk in, ya know? When we walked through the chapel, I literally... squealed :) My heart is so GLAD! And THEN... my dress came in a month and a half early, so I got to pick that up too! I'm excited I'll get to show it to Margie (Shane's mom) when she's at the house.

Alright.. well, hope y'all are good. Be praying for Shane's recovery... and the Lord's voice in this forced time of rest. Love you all!

Here it begins...

Well friends, Shane nor I felt like this season of our life would be made official until we... had a blog. :)

And, to be honest, I had to have SOMETHING to occupy my time since I'm not going to see Shane until Thanksgiving. It's been SUCH a blessing this fall for us to get to see each other as much as we have... I've had a ton of breaks on my tour and have flown out to meet him on the road... we both ended up having shows in Phoenix last night and then parted ways. It's so strange... and sweet... I don't feel like myself without him now. :)

So, we're both just busy finishing up our separate fall tours while TRYING to make some headway on wedding plans! In about two days it will only be five months until that sweet, sweet day when "Barnardelsberger" becomes... just... Barnard. :)

Alright, well, I picked a bad time to try and write a blog... I gotta go run to Target and grab some bus food. But, more soon! And more pictures... and wedding info... and funny stories... and... and... everything else that is bloggish.
